Walking to the office today, I was meditating in the spirit waiting for the Holy Spirit to drop a word for the propagation of the Gospel today when the word came in form of a dog.
I had just navigated a bend when I stumbled upon a dog sniffing cut leaves on the floor and attempting to take a bite.
I was flabagasted and shooed the dog away in disgust. As if the dog could hear me I shouted at it, “hey you, don’t you know you are a dog not a goat? You are carnivorous not herbivorous. Go and find food and don’t settle for leaves, you goat sorry dog”.
As if the dog could hear me, it started barking as if to say “brother, I am just hungry and nothing to eat. Help me”
I’m sure it wasn’t saying that in their dog language but wanted to bite me but I didn’t care, I had told it my mind.
Think about it……
Isn’t it an anomaly for a dog to be found eating grass?
Isn’t it absurd to see a lion eating cockroaches?
Shouldn’t it be a sacrilage to see a child of God begging for food from unbelievers?
While writing this piece, a childhood song cropped up in my mind and it goes thus, “Me I no go suffer, I no go beg for bread, me I no go suffer, I no go beg for bread. God of miracle, na my Papa o. God of miracle, na my Papa o.” For the non Nigerian readers, the song simple means “I will never suffer and I won’t beg for bread. For the God of miracle is my father.”
Psalms 37:25-26 reads, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or their children begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his children will be a blessing”.
Your father is the owner of the Universe and everything in it (Psalms 24:1 and 1 Corinthians 10:26) so why would His children be begging for a job or begging for marriage or begging for money or begging for food or begging to be accepted or begging to be loved.
It’s an anomaly.
It’s an aberration.
It’s an abnormality.
It’s an abomination.
